What type of Tropical Fish Tank to buy, what material should my Tropical Fish Tank be, what location should my Tropical Fish Tank be in, cost of my Tropical Fish Tank.
So the first thing to do is decide what size and shape tank you are going to buy. When choosing a location you have to bear in mind a few things, you need to be able to get easy access to the tank to be able to change water, it needs to be near power sockets, can you view the tank clearly. When the tank is full of water the weight increases drastically so make sure its not going on anything not strong enough to take the weight. It would be best if possible to buy the largest tank you can either afford or your space allows, although this is more expensive and takes more looking after than a smaller tank if your aim is to keep a lot of fish in one tank it will save you money in the long run, also it will contain a lot more water which gives the tank more stability so if it accidently got knocked would not end up with your fish and water all over the floor.
There are two types of material that fish tanks are made of, glass or acrylic. Acrylic is lighter but scratches easier than glass also if there was a problem with leaking at anytime it is a lot harder to repair. Most people do tend to use glass despite its weight. The next thing to do is place the tank in position. You may have decided to place it on a piece of furniture or bought a stand for it, either way you must place a piece of polystyrene beneath the tank which levels out any slight irregularities in the glass so that when you start filling with water it stops the tank warping and leaking from the joints. So we finally have our tank in position.
